What a fantastic weekend! The sun shone, we had a great time out and about, great company on Saturday evening for a BBQ and all in all it was also very productive, perfect. The only trouble, as always is that it went far to quickly.
On Saturday I managed to sow more rows of carrots, parsnips (minus the radishes this time), beetroot and lettuces on the allotment. We visited our village church fete and bought far too much, but it's all in a good cause so I don't mind and they were an absolute bargain - 10 books (mainly children's books and a couple of novels for me) for 20p each, a brand new scooby doo puzzle, large barbie car, small doll and lovely dolls wooden bunk beds all for a total of £7. We had friends round in the evening for a lovely BBQ and no, I never managed to make a dessert but fortunately we were all so stuffed after the main course that I don't think anyone minded.
Today has been a bit of a lazy one. I planted in our garden (with some help from the children) a pot of carrots, spring onions, lettuce, french beans and sugar snaps, mainly so that the children can watch them grow. I also filled my strawberry planter and potted on some tomatoes, so now I can sit back and chill, well for a few minutes anyway before I start sorting things for Monday morning (groan).
