Rain, rain, go away!

The weather is truly lousy here today. After a glorious couple of weeks it has finally turned, but I guess that's the good old British weather for you, and at least it is good for the allotment.
My plans for the weekend therefore have been altered. I was hoping to have a couple of hours on the allotment but it's going to be too wet underfoot I think especially as it is still raining.
Instead this morning I was organised and sorted a menu plan for the week and then braved our nearest town to visit the local market, something I haven't done before (I have always taken the quick shop round the supermarket or having the shopping delivered option to save time). I got soaked but was amazed at the bargains they had. Fruit and vegetables were a lot cheaper than the supermarket and they even had a stall selling meat and cheese which again was much cheaper. I think until all my allotment veg is ready I must try and make the effort to visit the market first before resorting to the supermarket.
