Green Cleaning

In an attempt to cut down on the amount of 'nasties' that I have around the house I have started making my own cleaning products. The ones that have worked the best for me so far are -

Lavender all purpose kitchen cleaner
1 pint of warm water
1 tablespoon of bicarb of soda
5 or 6 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Mix all the ingredients together and keep in a labeled spray bottle. I have found this works brilliantly on everything. For stubborn marks or dried on food deposits (like on the hob), I spray until the mark is saturated, leave for about 5 mins and then it just wipes off. This lavender in this also has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties which is an added bonus.

**Please remember though that essential oils should not be used if you are pregnant or breast feeding and if you have other medical conditions you should consult your doctor before use **

Wood Polish
Mix 1 part white distilled vinegar with 1 part oil olive, give it a shake and voila! store in a bottle (I used a glass one) and give it a shake just before you use it. It brings wood up beautifully.

I'll post any more successful concoctions I come up with.
